WATERFEST TO BE HELD AT REDMAN CREEK BEACH AUGUST 19 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake, in partnership with the SEMO Regional Water Safety Council, will be hosting the annual Ranger Willie B. Safe Waterfest event on Saturday, August 19 at the Redman Creek Beach from 11 am – 4 pm. Area schools are starting back but the summer fun doesn’t have to end. Waterfest is the perfect opportunity for the entire family to have fun. Day use fees will be waived for the day at Redman Creek Beach and all activities are free. Activities include Inner Tube Races, Water Balloon Volleyball and more. Participants ages 5-18 will put their creativity and skills to the test as they construct and race their carefully built Cardboard Boats. All supplies are provided for the popular Cardboard Boat Race. The complete schedule of events follows: 10:00 am – 11:00 am Free Beach Play 11:00 am -12:00 pm Event Registration 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm Sand Sculpture Contest 1:45 pm Lifejacket Fashion Show 2:00 pm Inner Tube Race 3:00 pm Water Balloon Volleyball/ Obstacle Course/ Cardboard Boat Race 4:00 pm Event Ends Participants must register for the Cardboard Boat Race, Inner Tube Race, and Sand Sculpture Contest.
