The Vegas Golden Knights are scheduled to make 30 picks by Wednesday, one from each of the 30 NHL teams as part of the NHL Expansion draft. However, each team is to select a number of players to be protected from the Golden Knights selecting them. The obvious for the Blues, Vladimir Tarasenko. The Blues did draw a good deal not having to use two of its selections on Forward Robby Fabbri, and Defenseman Colton Parayko. Both are exempt because they haven’t been in the league long enough. The most notable names from the Blues that were left off, Forwards David Perron and Jori Lehtera as well as defenseman Robert Bortuzzo. Early projections show The Golden Knights taking Perron with only one year left on his deal and the potential is there to make him first line winger or use for trade bait when the deadline nears. Perron had 18 goals and 28 assists playing in all 82 games this past season. However, just had one single assist for his only point in 11 playoff games.
