The Southeast Missouri State Baseball team won its first contest of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday 13-10 over fifth seeded Jacksonville State. However, Southeast’s second opponent was the top seed in the OVC, Tennessee Tech. Ryan Flick hit three home runs, including a grand slam to pace the Golden Eagles as the back and forth game went to Tennessee Tech and won 14-9. Southeast moves to the elimination side of the bracket and one more loss will eliminate and finish of Southeast’s quest to repeat as conference champions. Southeast will face sixth seeded Murray State at 11 AM this morning and with a win and a Tennessee Tech loss, Southeast will move to play on Saturday with one win away from the championship round. However, if Tennessee Tech wins, Southeast will have to beat Belmont later in the day to get to Saturday.
