St. Vincent Boys, Girls Reach State Semifinals

The girls soccer team at St. Vincent is known for success and being a threat to win a district championship year in and year out. However, the baseball team reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 2001 and on a walk-off hit but Mitchell Dobbelare stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with just one out and the bases loaded. He smashed a ball over a the right fielder’s head securing the game and winning the quarterfinal 7-6 and reaching the State Semifinals in O’Fallon Missouri and will play Tuesday, May 30 at 4 p.m.

Once the second half rolled around, the St. Vincent girls soccer team left no doubt who the better team was in the game. Leading just 1-0 at half time, the lady Indians scored four more goals and three of them came in three and a half minutes. Courtney Brewer made only one save in the shutout victory 5-0 and send the lady Indians to the State semifinals for the first time since 2011. St. Vincent will play Wednesday, May 31 at 4 p.m. against Principia in Kansas City.
