Bell City Reaches Third Straight Semifinal

The Bell City Cubs are continuing its two time defending state title and have reached the State Semifinals with a 4-1 win over Eminence. Every run scored in the game came via the home run. Bobby Wright started the scoring in the first inning when he went deep for the second time in the last three games on a three run home run. Two innings later Austin Hicks knocked one over the fence to make it a 4-0 lead before Grant Dyer from Eminence took starting pitcher, Cole Nichols deep and make it a 4-1 game. However, Eminence got just two other hits the entire game outside of the home run and Bell City cruised to the victory going back to the State Semifinals for the third straight year. Yet, Coach Justin Simpher wasn’t content with the team’s performance giving them an extra running assignment after the final out was made. He believed they didn’t play their best baseball and left too many runners on and wanted to send a message for them not to settle and wants them to continue to improve.
