Senior Tanner Tibbs threw a three-hit shutout and grabbed the first RBI of the game with a bases loaded walk to lead the Mules past the Jackson Indians and win the Class 5 District 1 championship. Jackson finished 23-8 which broke the school record for most wins in a season but couldn’t capture its third straight district title. The Mules scored five runs in the second inning and added another three in the 7th to cap off the 8-0 shutout. Poplar Bluff imporves to 20-5 and will face the winner of the Rockwood Summit and Oakville on Tuesday May 23.
